We have visited this fattoria several times, it is a wine and oil producing estate situated amidst splendid countryside only 15 mins drive from the beautiful walled city of Lucca. Panoramic views and very friendly owners 'Piero and Francesca'. The property has been in Francesca's family for generations, and they moved there after working as film producers in Rome to escape the rat race. They're extremely passionate about what they do and happy to arrange cooking lessons, tours of the herb gardens and have meals cooked for you. The food we have eaten at this fattoria is some of the best we have ever had in Tuscany!
Shops and excellent restaurants within easy reach. Fine wines, olive oil and honey produced on the estate which also offers cookery courses, internet access, swimming pool and warm Tuscan hospitality.
A shopping mall with an Esselunga supermarket, a bank, a dry cleaner, a coffee bar and several other shops is located 3 km from the farm and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (Closed all day Sunday & Monday morning).
There are at least 5 restaurants within 5 km of the estate whose cuisine we can recommend to you ranging from the simple but savory dishes prepared at ‘Le Colonne’ to the refined 1-star Michelin cuisine of the elegant ‘Restaurant La Mora’.
If you would like to have lunch or dinner in Lucca (the town is only a 15-minute drive from this Agritourismo), we strongly recommend ‘La Buca di S.Antonio’ and ‘L’Antica Locanda dell’Angelo’: both restaurants have been in operation since the Middle Ages and serve delicious interpretations of traditional Tuscan cuisine
Pisa airport is only 23 Km and the beach is aprox half hour drive.
There are only 4 apartments in total which share a pool. In addition there is a large farmhouse on the estate but it is independent and has its own swimming pool.
Guests are always welcome to stop by wine cellar for a complimentary glass of wine. On request the fattoria will organize Olive Oil and Wine Tasting's which include a tour of the oil press and winery and a description of all production procedures.
