Immersed in greenery yet only a short drive from the Medieval town of Pietrasanta ,stylish Forte dei Marmi,the sea ,Pisa airport and Lucca. Designed by a famous Architecht for his own occupation, this fascinating property dominates the surrounding tranquil landscape.
Perched on the crest of a private hillside, it is secluded, but not isolated, in a superb location with other properties of a similar standard. Entrance to the private hillside estate is restricted to residents only through tall, remote controlled iron gates. It's an impressive villa which offers our guests the utmost privacy and comfort combined with the most spectacular views. Including a village illuminated high on the thickly wooded hillside, along the coastal plain from Livorno to La Spezia and out over the sea as far as the island of Corsica with stunning sunsets. There are several entrances to the house which is built out, over the hillside on a series of terraces so that each individual room and terrace enjoy magnificent views. Steps lead down to the pool area,surrounded by landscaped gardens,exotic banana palms and exotic plants.
The main entrance opens into a vast open plan L shaped living area with black granite floors.Comfortable leather couches form a group with a further seating area that has a TV & DVD player. The dining area has a round marble table seating eight. Virtually two sides of the living area are glass windows with two sets of French doors that open out onto terraces suspended over the spectacular grounds far below. The Architect who designed the house intended that the maximum amount of natural light would flood into the living areas to maximise enjoyment of daylight hours.Strip blinds and window screens are fitted at two sides of the living area to take advantage of cool evening breezes. The classic kitchen has a small sunny terrace with an adjustable canopy. Steps lead down from the kitchen onto a large shady covered terrace area with table and chairs and brick built barbecue. We recommend a visit to the nearby fishing port of Viareggio where the boats land and sell their catch from the quayside - great for an informal gourmet barbcue! This house is particularly suitable for two families or groups of friends travelling together as the bedrooms are arranged as two suites on two floors, each opening out onto a terrace with its‘ own spectacular view. To keep the grounds and pool well groomed, the housekeepers/gardeners need regular access; they will be pleased to be of assistance if asked to do so,but will otherwise respect your privacy. ACCOMMODATION COMPRISES: Spacious modern, detached house built out over terraced hillside. First level: Entrance hall. Vast L shaped living area leading through to dining area. Off the dining area is a full kitchen. Shower room with WC designed for garden/pool use.
Lower level: 1 master double with terrace, 1 twin that both share large terrace with spectacular views. 1 full bathroom, hallway leading to a laundry room with washing machine and extra fridge.
Upper level: 2 bedrooms .1 master double with oval bed and terrace with panoramic views. 1 twin sharing the large terrace with panoramic views. 1 full bathroom (new shower unit for 2010). Estate extends over 4700m of terraced, landscaped grounds with 12 metre length pool (1.50m — 2.50m), both are floodlit. Air conditioning in all bedrooms. Daily maid/cook available.
