Lucca
Lucca

Lucca is a wealthy and colorful town that draws a more discerning tourist than Florence or Pisa, it is sufficiently off the beaten track to have kept its civility and reserve. Lucca is a city of merchants who know how to woo the visitor and the shopper, but the pace of life varies between slow and slower and the wonders of Lucca are only half an hour away from Tuscany’s’ endless golden beaches.

The walls of Lucca, which perfectly enclose this enchanting Tuscan city, date back to the 16th century. Abundant with some of Italy’s finest medieval and renaissance architecture, a beautiful amphitheatre, antique markets, classical and rock music festivals, art and history, designer and bijoux boutiques, art nouveau architecture and fabulous restaurants, (but then fabulous eating establishments are indigenous of the Northern Tuscany area.) .
