Charming apartment with a large terrace in one of the most sought after locations in the historical centre of Pietrasanta. Fillipo is situated on one of the narrow streets leading off from the main Piazza. The many famous restaurants, shops, cafes, shop art galleries and the square with its' fantastic view are right on your doorstep - we are delighted to add this to our Pietrasanta portfolio.
Apartment Fillipo has a large terrace - rare in the historical centre - which is equipped for dining and relaxing perfect for making the most of the fantastic summer weather and absorbing the atmosphere of Pietrasanta town centre without leaving your front door!
The apartment is furnished to a good standard with a brand new kitchen with dishwasher and gazebo on the terrace since 2011.
A car is not necessary at this property as the train station is walking distance and we can arrange bicycle hire for guests who wish to cycle to the beach (shaded cycle track the whole way).
The apartment is on the first floor and entrance is into a seating area, leading off from the seating area is the master double and a further twin bedroom. There is a corridor lined with large arched glass doorways which lead onto the terrace. The corridor leads to the kitchen/dining area and the bathroom (with bath tub).
Highly recommended!
**Please note our photos are taken in the winter, in the summer months the terrace is furnished.
Dear Bridgewater,
We wanted to say thank you for the arrangements made on our behalf during our stay in Tuscany. The apartment suited our needs perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Pietrasanta.... You are right, it is indeed a special place. The attention provided by Lucy was much appreciated - you did a first class job. |

WHAT THE SUNDAY TIMES HAS TO SAY ABOUT THIS AREA OF ITALY: This villa is situated on the Tuscan Riviera which has been Bridgewater's 'special part of Italy since 1973' and was chosen by the Sunday Times Travel Supplement March 20 as an "all star destination" in Italy. Our villas on the Tuscan coast with it's stunning mountain backdrop, wide golden beaches & beautiful countryside are only 30 mins from Pisa airport, 20 minutes from Lucca, 1 hour from Florence, Portofino & the Cinque Terre.
FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA & THINGS TO DO / SEE: Bridgewater operates in Pietrasanta,a magical town of 'art & artists' where Michelangelo once lived. The Medieval town nestles at the foot of the marble clad Apuan alps only a few minutes drive (or bike ride) from some of Italy's most immaculate wide sandy beaches. The area is loved by locals as well as international artists, sculptors and celebrities yet relatively undiscovered by tourists. The Tuscan Riviera is the ideal destination from which to explore the best that Italy has to offer with a private villa as your base. Perfect for beach lovers and those who are looking for art, culture, and cuisine as well as splendid countryside. Music lovers will be interested to know that ‘Torre del Lago’ (where the maestro Giacomo Puccini lived and wrote his operas) is only 15 minutes drive and you can enjoy Puccini’s operas beneath the stars at the open air theatre by the lake. Walking in the alps is also popular in this area of Italy and the food is some of the best that Italy has to offer…simple, fresh, rustic cuisine to satisfy the most discerning of pallets. There is also tennis, watersports, clay pigeon shooting, golf, horse-riding in the area.
GETTING THERE, GETTING AROUND & EXTRA SERVICES: Pisa is the nearest airport to fly to for this property. (Bologna, Florence & Genoa are also within reasonable distance see distances below). The journey from the airport can be made either by hire car, taxi or train in to Pietrasanta station. .
SPECIAL EVENTS:
First Sunday of every month: Pietrasanta antiques market in Piazza del Duomo.
February, Viargeggio carnival: The Viareggio Carnival is the most spectacular in Italy, famous worldwide for its incredible puppets. The people of Viareggio begin preparing the huge papier-māché puppets in hangar-like buildings by the sea. The figures satirise public and political figures. 2009 dates to be confirmed.
June, Luminara di San Ranieri, Pisa: During the Luminara di San Ranieri in Pisa, more than 70,000 candles illuminate the banks of the river Arno in a breathtaking spectacle of light. The candles are lit and hung on white wooden frames (biancheria), enhancing the shapes of the buildings, bridges, towers and churches that are dotted along the river. It's an old Pisan tradition that was initiated in the 17th century, but eventually became solely associated with the celebration of San Ranieri, the city's patron saint.
July & August. Versiliana Festival:
Annual international dance, theatre and music festival which is part of the La Versiliana summer spectacular and held at the Teatro della Versiliana in Marina di Pietrasanta. The festival takes place within the Versiliana Park, an imposing villa built during the 19th century by Count Digerini-Nuti.
